-
- How to play O.R.B.Y.
-
- O.R.B.Y. is played in sets, four sets to a game. Each set has three turns.
- When play begins, each player is prompted for two numbers--an angle and
- and a velocity. The angle must be within the specified range, and the
- velocity must be an amount between one and the unused velocity remaining.
- The total velocity available for each Set (15 units) must last for three
- turns, so be warned and budget velo units wisely!
-
- Players' angle and velocity choices are displayed above and below their goals.
- There are also two velocity guages which show at a glance how much velocity
- is still available to each player. The score displayed at the top of the
- field carries over from set to set, but new suns are displayed for each set.
-
- The object in O.R.B.Y. is to send your planet through the field of suns and
- into your opponent's goal. In this way you score points. You score bonus
- points if you use fewer than 10 velo units during a set, and you score more
- bonus points if you use less than 7 velo units. You will lose points if
- your planet comes back into your own goal. There are four different sizes
- of suns; the larger the sun, the less gravitational pull it has. If your
- planet strays too close to a sun, it will be captured. Once you become
- used to the angles and the pull of the suns, you'll be able to curve your
- planet into your opponent's goal--or go on defence to block a sure goal.
-
- NOTE: To change the speed of the planets, to turn off the sound, or to
- toggle MONO only, select item 2, Rules & Settings from the menu.
-
- To ERASE all high scores files, press ALT-F9 at the menu. Be sure
- to have a backup copy, in case you want to change your decision.
